Hello and welcome!
.
It is not a surprise that I am reading another book by the amazing writing duo (Christina Lauren). So getting this book from #netgalley was just like a birthday gift for me.
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Unhoneymooners and the “delectable, moving” My Favorite Half-Night Stand comes a modern love story about what happens when your first love reenters your life when you least expect it…
.
After reading Unhoneymooners earlier this year, I didn’t think I anything could top that but here we are again.
Review
You can have high expectations, they will be met. It’s as simple as that with this book.
The story itself is actually quite simple and straight to the point. Tate travels to the UK with her grandma on vacation before she starts college, which is where she meets Sam who is a college student. They seem to fall for each other at first sight and she seemed to think that the love she feels for him is something that would happen only once in a blue moon. She ends up spilling all her secrets to him
Then…
He spills are secrets to the press and now she can hear the loud sound of her heart breaking along with her mother’s carefully constructed fence……. Her First Heart Break.
Years later, she is now a big shot actress and would be acting with her father for a big budget film but the last thing she is expecting is to see Sam again on set as the writer of Milkweed.
With him back in her life she can’t wait to ask him why he abandoned her years ago in London.
The writing was perfect and the flow was great, I read this book in two sittings. So maybe I didn’t enjoy this as much as the Unhoneymooners but it was pretty close. This story is more packed with a lot of backstory and lots of characters and even a movie scene.
