Hello and welcome!!!
.
Here is another ‘books I have read recently’ post.
I haven’t been reading a lot lately and little tip (it’s because I have been attending Deutsch classes) Anyways this is a cumulative post of books I read towards the end of last month up till this point
I read a lot more but as my tradition on here, I will be talking only about the one I really enjoyed and I think should be mentioned.

- Her Royal Highness by RACHEAL HAWKINS
My Review
This one I finished today and let me start by saying, I freaking loved it, if I could give it a 10 out of 5 I would.
It was just so freaking amazing. It’s very rare to get books about royalty in which there is a homosexual or even bisexual main character and I am loving it.
This book kinda begins with this girl Millie who really wants to go to this very popular and high ranking school in Scotland. You know, just for her to get away from everything including her recent heartbreak.
So of course she makes it to Scotland and has to share a room with the Princess of Scotland. Flora is gay and she is still trying to let her mom know that her interest is not just a phase. Not only that, she also hate the fact that she is in this school and would stop at nothing to get expelled.
But has you would expect, she slowly falls in love with Millie and soon they are the talk of the whole country and the media can’t get enough of them
Soon things begin to go array and it’s left to millie to go get her girl back.
The main issue I had with this book was that we didn’t really get to have enough time with the main characters. First we had to go 6-7 chapters of backstory before she even goes to Scotland.
I also wish they had more alone scenes where we get to have a feel of their actual relationship.
Don’t get me wrong I loved it but I am sure I could have loved it more.

- Damaged like us by KRISTA and BECCA RITCHE (like us series #1)
My Review
I really liked this book but now that I am done reading it, I am hit in the face with all the faults.
So it’s about this bisexual guy who has always had this love for his bodyguard who is gay and a doctor
I don’t know how to go so deep into this book without giving it away
Just think of their family as the Kardashians with extra problems.
I enjoyed this book but I don’t think I will be continuing the series

- Pretty Reckless by L.J. SHEN
My Review
I have loved all of shen’s books and this was no exception.
This is actually a sequel to the sinners of saint series and here we follow Daria who is the daughter of one of the hot holes.
We are also introduced to Penn who is the captain of the rival football team and Daria’s soon to be foster brother.
A terrible past ties them together and they are both ready to get their revenge only things doesn’t go has they plan and they fall in love.
Best way to read this book is to go into it knowing nothing.

- Meet Cute by HELENA HUNTING
My Review
Let me start with the pure fact that you could never go wrong reading Helena Hunting.
Well this book actually starts with a meet cute between a fangirl and her childhood celebrity crush who was on a TV show “it’s my life” which she watched when she was a teenager.
They happen to meet on the first day of law school and they end up becoming rivals.
5 years after law school, they meet again in her office when he comes with his parents to set a trust fund for his sister. Not long after this a tragic loss brings them together.
This is one you need to read!!!!

- The Prince and the Dressmaker by JEN WANG
My review
This book takes place in Paris, at the dawn of the modern age. Here we have Sebastian who is a prince who should be looking for a bride based on his parents request, but Sebastian is hiding a huge secret from everyone.
In comes frances who is a dressmaker who dresses him in daring but fashionable pieces that he wears while storming Paris at night as the infamous Lady Crystallia.
There are two things about this book that makes it exceptional. First we have the cross dressing prince and the way his father finally accepts him and also the fact that he was in love with Frances. When we see things like this, people always assume that they are gay.
I just loved this book.

- Red Scrolls of Magic by CASSANDRA CLARE and WESLEY CHU
My Review
Do I love this book or do I love this book?
So a few chapters in, I noticed that the writing style seemed a bit different from the usual Cassandra style. It just had a different atmospheric feel but I still loved it.
It picks up during the City of Fallen Angels (the wild vacation that Malec took after the mortal war) and we follow Magnus and Alex has they try to enjoy their vacation in Paris. Alec over thinks everything and he is always planning but Magnus as we can expect is glittery and just wants Alec to have a great time.
Things are a bit steamy but their steamy scene is cut short when tessa comes baring bad news.
Cassandra usually keeps us hanging and waiting, anticipating but we already know what the red scrolls are about before the middle of the book
We still have our fun and glittery Magnus and Alec is still broody but in love (we know how that changes a person)
Magnus: I am very attached to my life
Really who isn’t?
We also get a peek into the beginning of Helen and Aline relationship. I really love them, they don’t get enough love
Okay so the ending definitely gave a major spoiler especially to people who haven’t read the other books.
Advice is do not the read this book until you have read the first three books in the mortal instruments

- It seemed like a good idea at the time by KYLIE SCOTT
My Review
One word to describe it is Steamy
This is the taste of romance book for the month of April. It a book club on goodreads where a different author gives a free book every month which would be read and discussed at the end of the month
I usually have issues with books that have relationships with such a tremendous age gap but this one was done well enough.
I wasn’t exactly blown away and it want really a new idea but I did enjoy it

- Petal Plucker by IRIS MORLAND
My Review
Confession: I, Dandelion “Dani” Wright, am twenty-six years old and have yet to be deflowered. No man has hosed my hyacinth. Fondled my freesia. Diddled my daffodil.
She is a virgin and he is the man she hates
Just read it, trust me.

- Intercepted by Alexa martin
My Review
I enjoyed this books so much but I could have enjoyed it more.
I have never read anything by Alexa Martin but this is a good start.
It’s about this girl who has been dating a douchey football player for the better part of a decade.
He cheats on her.
Gives her ring to another.
They break it off
And this is kind of the trigger of the beginning of the book.
A new quarter back has been bought by the team and he just happens to be the sexy man she had a one night stand with four years ago during one of her off and on relationship with asshole Chris.
Will he remember her? Or will she have to hide away forever?
