Books I have read recently #5

Hello and welcome!!

.

Another cumulative review of books I have read recently. I prefer doing this type of review than a monthly review.

  • Rafe: A Buff Male Nanny by Rebekah Weatherspoon

Review

I was actually supposed to read this during the Smut-a-thon but I just couldn’t but I am glad I finally got to it.
So we have Rafe who is the new nanny for Dr. Sloan who is one of the youngest surgeons in the country.
He starts working for her and instantly they have this attraction that is really growing and it started blossoming fast

I love the fact that the author point out a lot of things including the inter-racial relationship, as Rafe is a tattoo tall hunk of a white man with his ginger hair and beard and Sloan is a big shot black surgeon who had to get past a lot of stereotypes including her asshole of an ex husband

I love her twins
This book was just perfect

  • Flatshare by Beth O’Leary

Review

Okay, I enjoyed the book, not as much as the hype seems to be, but it quite sweet

So we have a Tiffy who has finally decided to move on from her asshole of a boyfriend when he announces that he is getting married to someone else.

Now she has to move out of his apartment but she has little to no money so she decides to share a flat with a guy Leon who is a nurse and supposedly won’t be home at night.
The flat share becomes more like a bed share, as they both sleep in the same bed. Soon they start leaving notes for each other and she starts baking to deal with her loss.

Without more spoilers, her psychopathic of a ex tries to manipulate her into getting back with him be Tiffy grew a back bone and would decide to lead her heart.

Anyways the ending was dupper cute and I loved it

  • Fix Her Up by Tessa Bailey

Review

Don’t be fooled by the sweet innocent cover, this book is one dirty shit. I really loved it, there is just something about this book that so hilarious but yet heart wrenching.

Okay so we have Georgie who is the last child in the family and has always been treated as such, her family dont take her seriously and her opinion rarely matters and it seemed to worsen when she decided to be a professional clown. One thing she has is her non ending crush on Travis and her regularly Travis masturbatory plan.

Travis is a baseball player who sustained and injury and had to be let go, now he is back his home town where he grew up bring tossed around from one parent to another after a messy divorce.
He is home now but he is wallowing in his despair until Georgie is friends sister visits in and kind off inspire him to start again.

Soon he realizes that his friend’s sister is hot and he can’t keep his dirty words, hands and mouth of Virginal Georgie whose only sexual partner is “Dale”

  • Tell Me How You Really Feel by Aminah Mae Safi

Review

Now this book is the epitome of a sweet hate to love trope. This book is a package of all the things I love in a book.
Good and easy to read writing
Balanced story progression
Amazing and deep characters
Single mother
LGBTQ+ representation
POC representation
Cultural representation
Absence of unnecessary side characters

Simple it’s about two girls Sana and Rachel, one is Indian American, the other I think is Mexican
At the start of the school year Sana asked Racheal on a date but she refused because she thought Sana was only asking her out as a joke and they kind of started this hate relationship on Rachel side.
Then a situation result in Sana having to star as the main character in Rachel movie which leads to then spending more them together and slowing begin to develop feelings for each other

This book breaks a lot of stereotypes and I just loved it.

Gosh I speed through this book, I cant believe how much I love it.

  • Fumbled by Alexa Martin

Review

Poppy is a single mother who is working at a club. The outfits she is required to wear is ridiculous but what is more ridiculous is the fact that her boyfriend who she parted with many years ago is also in the club tonight. Her luck though

The only thing now is TK Moore is a popular football player in Denver and his presence in the club definitely stirs it.

There is a secret that she is hiding from him

This book is one you shouldnt be spoiled for.
The way it talks about the loss that family feels, the dangers of football as a sport, the repercussion

  • Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey

Review

This is one of those books in which I can’t decide if I really like it or if I don’t.
The book isn’t as comedic as I would have liked for a rom com but it was alright

I guess I can say that this book is more about realizing that real life isn’t like the movies and one should get unrealistic expectations out of ones mind but at the say time pointing out that their is true love.

Annie has always been obsessed with rom com for as long as she can remember even having parents who were each others true love until she finds out that something that changes her mind.

She is determined to find her own Tom Hanks but what she doesnt expect is that he would be a hot movie star.
