Hello and welcome!
It’s been a while since I have done an independent book review and that is because I do it for only spectacular books.
Before I start with this review, I have to say that this book would have rated higher, I just didn’t like the slow progression in the book. I felt so stuck reading it, the plot just kept growing but the story itself didn’t really move.
The fictional world is amazing, people live in different arks having various powers, some the ability to control the mind, some able to go through mirrors, some telepathy and much more. The magic system is spectacular.
Ophelia who is the main character is this solitary girl who works at the museum in Anima which is the name of the ark where she lives with her family, after refusing to marry various cousins, she is forced to marry a Thorn who us a member of a powerful clan from another ark which is cold and very distant. Her peaceful existence is shattered but that isn’t all she has to face as she is not expecting what she meets on the ark.
Powerful clans are divided with each vying for power, death and destruction not far from anyone’s doorstep. She has to pretend to be mute and a mime as she hides under their noses.
This book was really intriguing and captivating and I really can’t wait to read the next book.
I gave this book a 3.9 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading
Have you read this book?did you like it?
